As part of the Hospitals Employee Health team, the MA will promoted, coordinate, and administer all aspects of occupational health services for healthcare professionals (HCP) in his/her Tenet facility. This includes employees and non-employees working in the facility. Responsibilities may include immunizations, blood draws, mask fitting, employee history review, working with the workers compensation carrier, following up with staff, reporting, and ensuring that all services are rendered in a courteous and professional manner.
SPECIAL SKILLS: General computer knowledge, ability to type, answer phones, use a fax/copier machine, medical terminology and communication skills. Phlebotomy skills. Good organization skills. Able to utilize decision-making skills. Self-motivated. Must possess knowledge of release of information guidelines. Ability to maintain positive working relationships with staff and outside vendors.
MINIMUM EDUCATION: Graduate of an Accredited Medical Assisting Program
PREFERRED EDUCATION: Associate Degree
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: Medical Assistance experience
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: 1 year of Medical Assistance experience in primary setting as well as office medical procedures and treatments. When working in Occupational Health prefer experience in urgent care or occupational health setting.
REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURE: Certified Medical Assistant.
