M Health Fairview Southdale Hospital, located in Edina MN is looking for a Sterile Instrument Technician t o support our busy operating rooms.
This position determinesOperating Room surgical instrument needs for surgery cases and sets up surgical instrument trays. Decontaminates and sterilizes surgical instruments including preparation. Decontaminates, cleans, processes, reprocesses scopes, assembles, sterilizes, stores and distributes surgical instruments for Hospital Surgeries and Obstetrics, and Clinics. Serves as a resource to physicians, nurses and medical staff in the Operating Room regarding surgical instruments.

Day/Evening with occasional nights
Reviews and interprets O.R. surgery schedule on an on-going basis to determine priority of surgical instruments needed. Assembles instruments according to the daily distribution report.
Responds to emergency requests for supplies and instruments.
Decontaminates various instrumentation and equipment.
Serves as a resource to surgeons, nurses and other medical personnel .
Demonstrates ability to provide care or service adjusting approaches to reflect developmental level and cultural differences of population served.
Graduate of an accredited Central Service or Surgical Tech Program including training in instrument
processing and assembly within the last 3 years, or two years work experience in assembly and sterilization
of hospital operating room surgical instruments.
No years of work experience required if a graduate in a Central Service or Surgical Tech program. Two years workexperience in assembly and sterilization of hospital operating room surgical instruments if not graduate from a sterile processing/surg tech program.
3-5 years of Sterile processing or related experience
Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) or ability to obtain in near future
